Introduction

This annotated bibliography presents my findings from conducting research on the topic of blogging and its uses in academia to increase learning, reading comprehension, and writing skills.  The purpose of this study is to gather and present information in support of using blogs, both inside and out of the classroom, to supplement instructors' teaching methods.  My research has shown that blogs are beneficial in promoting student communication through writing and critical reading and by providing additional learning resources for students after they leave the classroom.  Through the annotations presented in this bibliography, the reader will notice that according to the articles cited, blogs have proved to be beneficial in all levels of education: elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as in college level courses.

I have organized the citations alphabetically, as well as in categories according to education level, article publication date, article name, and the article’s author – all of which are accessed through the sidebar to the right.
